The Felici Piano Trio
was founded in 1994 at Indiana University's renowned School of Music
in Bloomington. Acclaimed as "A True Trio Con Brio", the
critics praise Felici's "...first class chamber music making",
and "...tremendous joy in music". The ensemble came to Mammoth
through a Rural Residency grant from Chamber Music America awarded
to the Mono County Arts Council. In 1999, Felici received a three-year
Artists-in-Residence grant from the California Arts Council (CAC)
for educational outreach programs for children, as well as a 2001
Exemplary grant. For eight consecutive summers, the ensemble concertized
in Germany under the auspices of Rhineland-Palatinate's Kultursommer,
and appeared on 3SAT and ZDF Television, as well as recorded for German
Southwest Radio (SWF). |

The Felici Piano Trio's
"Chamber Music Unbound" is an initiative that
looks to cross cultural boundaries. During their time as Ensemble-in-Residence
with the Mono County Arts Council in Mammoth Lakes, the Felicis celebrate
their art form through diverse programming and outreach performances
that address audiences from various backgrounds.
Inspired by the richness derived from cultural diversity, which
is reflected in the ensemble members' backgrounds, "Chamber
Music Unbound" aspires to bring a community closer
together through the enjoyment of a great musical heritage that
spans four centuries and three continents. Chamber music, arguably
the most democratic of all art forms, is a unique way of communicating
intense emotions and complex thoughts, without the use of words.
Chamber music is therefore truly universal in its appeal and essentially
egalitarian in its way of expression.
